CAREER IN LAW
CAREER IN LAW
This piece of writing ( Article) is particularly intended to be read by those career aspirant who desire to see themselves, away from the popular field of Engineering, Medical or Commerce after completion of their ISC. The rising Indian city middle class family has engaged themselves into this age old fire struggle race of forcing their children’s towards B Tech colleges or towards medical courses. Just because there are thousands of private colleges have emerged up along the highways in past few decade offering engineering courses, it becomes very easy for a below average student to get into these colleges and come out with a B Tech Degree Certificate.
But in this, mad race for a certain job in future being ensured by engineering colleges, parents are ignoring the aspects like personal and professional growth of their young dynamic children. The ambition, desire and the eagerness of having a sense of accomplishment seem to be lost in our generation. Just because they know that there are hundreds of IT companies are lined up to pay them around twenty thousand rupees per month, they don't see themselves achieving beyond that. Especially the research and the entrepreneurial skills have significantly gone down.

| career in law |
Law as a career option is kind of a defame one. Even student passing from National university are considered to have taken up law only because they couldn’t get through Engineering or Medical Exam and had no other option than to go for Law. But let me put it crystal clear and straight for upcoming law aspirant.
Studying law in our contemporary society is completely different from what it was, ten years ago. Thanks to the emerging National Law Universities in various states (like IITs are to engineering, IIMs are to MBA, NLUs are to Law) in our country. Today litigating in court is not the only option left, after you have completed law course. The most beneficial point about this legal field is that it is not limited to a particular background of a student in his, senior secondary classes. Even if a student having, medical or commerce and humanities background; he can happily pursue a commencement (graduation) in law. The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is the most prestigious entrance test for getting into eleven National Law Universities. Student from any background be it Humanities, Science, Commerce can prepare for this test. When you enter into a good law college, you have people from diverse background competing with you. This adds different perspective to your knowledge. As I have mention about personal and professional growth initially, you may ask how studying laws help in this regard. But before I go on expounding this, I must make an honest admission that whatever I am talking here pertains to study of law at a good law university. An LLB degree in any other private college just for a degree will be of no use and of course will lead to no personal growth. In our contemporary society, law as one of the career option in India is totally different when it is taught in a National Law University or other good colleges from what it is taught in any other average Law College. Now, most importantly, the main issues I want to highlight are the options you have if you undertake a study of Law after your 12th. This should allay all those fears that a graduation in law does not leave you with much of options. Following are the various career options:
Now, most importantly, we shall discuss the main point I want to emphasize the option young lawyers have if you decided to undertake a study of Law after your 12th. This should relieve all those fears that people have that graduation in law, does not leave you with a large amount of option. Below are the a range of career option:
1.1. A Practicing Advocate:
There is nothing to be explained with respect of this profession. This is the conventional route people adopt after their graduation in law. I will recommend this career for those who already have someone in their family members as practicing lawyers or judges. Indian courts just function like sabzi mandi (this was stated by one of India's most eminent jurists M C Chagla in his autobiography) leaving a less scope for the first generation lawyers. Even if you are diligent and competent of moving things your way, you will be only into your 30s when your pocket will be filled up with client fee and table, full of case files. Many would challenge my argument stating it as negative, but ground reality cannot be usurp by misguiding untrue, optimism. Thus those who have lawyers in heredity should definitely go for court practice because their clients is already stable and they will be inherit an already reputable name.
Litigation as a career is one of the most common route that law graduate opt for, but this route will be best for those who have a lawyer in their family or have close connection with lawyers. Litigation or practicing law has less scope for first generation lawyers, even if you are hard=working, dedicated, sincere have the capacity to work things out. You will have clients and money only when you reach the age of 30. But those who have law as a family background should opt for this profession as they all ready have their clients and they will inherit the popular name of their family.
2. Corporate Counselors:

Present generation have a phobia of corporate world, there is craze for these big corporate firm as they pay good package, it has now become a new career option for young lawyers, student have fascination toward these big co-operate house. The corporate firm are rising it is when a small group of student from National law university pass out and open a law firm and provide legal service to some other company, these company pay huge amount of money to the firm providing legal service. The corporate industries are getting specialized in several other fields like, Intellectual property right, Merger Acquisition of a company, Insurance etc.
3. Civil Services or Judicial Services:
One of the most difficult examination in our country is to crack is civil service examination, but even civil service official have excepted that law students have an edge compared to other student coming from other stream. Thus a law student can prepare for this exam in much better way because those subject included in the examination is part of their syllabus in law academy. They are well-versed with current affairs of National & world wide.
4. Jobs with NGOs: taking law as a course can enhance your personality and develop social responsibility toward society at large. few students at present in their final year must be willing to work for the social service or other related matter, present scenario in respect of social worker is completely different, its value is no less than other alternative . infact capital consideration is small it is looked upt, fame prospective since you may emerge at the nationwide or international stage. A s a student of law gives you wide range for these kind of similar jobs. .our Indian society has expanded over the last 20 years, with has led to creation of multiple job in different NGO. Top NGO give their first preference to student of law, as they are familiar with law of the land as well having good research skill.
5.legal teacher/trainee:
As the education sector in our country is rising at such a fast speed , Law shcool/university have to face huge shortage of high-quality legal/trainee teachers. It is because of this that it has led to an enhance in the salary and emolument simultaneously. Furthermore, there are huge amount of administrative employment in this division. Young law graduates once they are over with their LLB/ masters can also look ahead as a teacher in this field.
There are also a number of new arena that are emerging up for legal experts, and there is no scarcity of takers for excellent lawyers in any of the subsequent domain:
Social Law: Main purpose of law is to render righteousness and justice, the public who need justice and equity are the ones who in fact can’t aid themselves are not able to help themselves. There is increasingly a small group of student and teachers in each and every law school, these students and teachers who want to make a atleast a minute difference to the life of the oppressed deprived citizen, and hence university has taken initiative and responded to the need of humanity to organize young lawyers with skills, quality needed to be successful everywhere from each and every in the world NGOs to the different organ United Nations dedicated for this purpose.
· Media and Law: Reporting is a predictably admired alternative for dynamic smart lawyers. Whether it political aspect or world interaction problem with our environment, finance advice or even news sports world! The fundamental skill which is required to stand out as a journalist – demands for detail, research work, ,good content quality writing - have common characteristics with law as domain and with just a bit of hard work you could be advancing for a career in a domain of your interest.
· Business Management: Huge number of global marketing and business men’s have a degree in Law,. Having a degree in the field of law does not mean end of education. Law teaches us that numeral skills which are relevant across each and every domains and prepared with our lawful skill, a get into Business administration, by doing let say MBA, or by getting through any job directly in the financial division are not unknown options
· Legal Process Outsourcing: Receiving legal aid in a most of country is a extremely costly proposal, and along with the new demand of the varying economy legal sectors are looking to cut costs by ephemeral(passing) on part of their work to cheap destination. In our country with a large number of lawyers who can speak and write well in English is chosen for an LPO upheaval that will witness a huge demand for legal service.
